Top ten fruits that detox the liver and body.

I know I said top 10 fruits, but I got a little excited and decided to do more than 10. I’ll categorize them into similar components. I, myself, love fruit. I add it to my oatmeal, my cooked desserts and my shakes so feel guilt free adding any one of these fruits to your everyday consumption to help detox the body and the liver.

Berries are not only packed with antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and fiber but they help the liver detox the body. Researchers have found that a daily diet rich in berries reduced the level of enzymes released from liver cells when they’re damaged. Berries can also help reduce inflammation in the body; which is important because inflammation precedes liver damage.
1 Blueberries, Blackberries, Strawberries, Cranberries, Raspberries, Wild berries,
Goji berries
Berries are considered a superfood for many reasons. One of them is that they’re packed with antioxidants that help fight oxidation and inflammation, which have been known to be the cause of many diseases. Berries have Antioxidant vitamins such as C, E, A, beta-carotene, folic acid, querticin and anthocyanidin as well as minerals like zinc, selenium, manganese, vitamin K, Copper, Folate and B vitamins that aid alcohol metabolism.
2 Grapefruit, Lemons, Limes, Oranges
Citrus fruit is a great source of vitamin C. Not only containing an impressive list of nutrients like potassium, folate, calcium, thiamine, niacin, vitamin B6 but also containing glycemic and non glycemic carbohydrates. Citrus fruits contain a plant pigment called cryptoxanthin that may significantly improve overall liver health. Certain citrus fruits, like grapefruit, can control obesity. It’s low in calories and high in nutrients! They also provide benefits to your immune system, controls appetite, aids in weight loss, prevents insulin resistance, improves heart health and has powerful antioxidants. That’s a mouthful of benefits; luckily they also taste great!
3 Apples and Apple Cider Vinegar
Apples have what are known as polyphenols; these help keep lipid levels of the liver under control. You’ll find that apple pectin and malic acid help remove toxins and carcinogens out of the body. Apples also have anti-inflammatory properties that help protect you against fatty liver. By adding apple cider vinegar daily you can up your cleaning regiment. The acetic acid in apple cider vinegar reduces inflammation and lowers your blood pressure by also keeping blood sugar spikes at bay. It also has alkaline effects; keeping your body clean and running efficiently.
4 Grapes
Along with being packed with nutrients that help fight many diseases; grapes are famous for resveratrol that have been known to help a number of health and beauty problems. Many Studies have shown that grapes can benefit the liver and can also lower inflammation which allows the liver to work its magic; the magic of cleaning out toxins. Grapes are also a great source of fiber, vitamins and minerals.
5 Avocados
Avocados are a low carb, low saturated fat plant friendly food with no cholesterol or sodium naturally. If you want to improve your digestion just add one high fiber avocado every day. Avocados have been known to improve insulin sensitivity and regulate glucose levels thus preventing obesity and oxidative damages. They are also a rich source of vitamin C and have a ton of antioxidants that help neutralize free radicals. Avocados also have glutathione that allows the liver work at full capacity by filtering out harmful substances and protecting liver cells.

You’ll find that watermelon contains more lycopene than any other vegetable or fruit. Lycopene Is a powerful antioxidant that benefits and improves heart health and may lower the risk of certain types of cancers. You will also find choline in watermelon that protects the liver from hepatitis and cirrhosis. Although watermelon is 97% water it has thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B-6, folate, pantothenic acid, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, copper, manganese, selenium, choline, lycopene, and betaine. So don’t feel bad about eating lots of watermelon; it can help hydrate your body on a hot day.
7 Pineapple
Pineapple is not only one of the sweetest fruits but has an incredible cleansing enzyme called Bromelain. This powerful enzyme goes through your body like a huge broom sweeping out and cleaning all the damaged cells and helping your liver clean out your body. Bromelain also aids in managing pain and the reduction of swelling and inflammation in the body. 9 Prunes
When I think of prunes It reminds me of my grandparents and how often and how much they drink the juice. At the time I didn’t understand that it was more than something that made you go to the bathroom. Prunes are an incredible cleanser of the body.  Prunes, either dried or juiced, helps draw out toxins from your liver, kidneys, lungs, and stomach then forces its way into your intestines for the body to eliminate. It Amazes me to hear that some people don’t have a bowel movement but once a week when instead it should be at least once a day and up to as many as three times a day. The buildup of waste in the intestines can be reabsorbed back into the bloodstream where you DO NOT want the waste to go and can cause a multitude of problems. Prunes are also full of antioxidants, high in iron and other nutrients that the body needs to help prevent cancer. They also boast anti-aging properties and are good for normalizing blood sugar levels.
10 Peaches
Peaches have what’s known as chlorogenic acid that regulates free radicals and damage. Peaches not only taste good but may also prevent liver cell oxidation and have an anti-inflammatory effect on the body. Well known for having high amounts of potassium, Peaches are thought to be efficient in reducing kidney diseases by helping clean your bladder and preventing or eliminating any kidney stones.
